I’m fortunate to be a regular collaborator with Freshrb on their Silent Elephant Project short films and workshops. I officially joined the team as an Audio Production Consultant in 2019, where I oversee a project’s soundscape throughout each stage of production.
WHAT IS THE SILENT ELEPHANT PROJECT?
Launched by Freshrb C.I.C. in 2017, The SEP is an accredited short film workshop for students/participants. The project investigates and raises the awareness of marginalised health conditions that affect our communities. Giving a voice to issues that rarely get a platform.
During 14 mobile workshop sessions, we teach media and project management skills while developing a fictional storyline around a specific health condition. Raising awareness, building engagement and creating an environment for further conversation with the students/participants.
In one of the sessions, I also host an Audio Production Workshop where I deliver a crash course into film sound and showcase a few of my favourite foley props.
Freshrb C.I.C. is also a registered ASDAN Centre and with these workshops, ASDAN credits can be achieved.
